Very concerned

Hi

I've had dark red blood in my urine for 4 weeks now - I have been to my GP and I've got an appointment with a Urologist next Tuesday. I don't have any pain and my first urine test came back with no infection, second one did show an infection but antibiotics didn't clear anything up. I am so anxious and worried and I'm not sleeping and I've also lost my appetite. Everyone keeps telling me to be positive but my brain just goes to the worst possible scenario. Obviously as we all do I've googled the symptoms and again it seems to be the worst outcome. Has anyone else been in this situation?

    I can understand this must be concerning and I know it's difficult to deal with the uncertainty. It's easier said than done, but try not to assume anything - it's good to hear you have the referral, and this will be the only way to get answers. It's best to avoid Googling things as the information will often be irrelevant, and doing this only tends to increase worries.

    Keep looking after yourself while you wait, and hopefully it won't be long before you get the answers you need.

    In the meantime, if others have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.
