Let's beat cancer sooner

Vent day : ((

11 Jan 2018 10:50

Well just waiting for my son to come out of his tests at hosp ... got so many things going on in my family at the mo ... lost cousin to lung cancer in Dec, untie just starting her breast cancer journey... sister's Alzheimer's getting really bad, last visit yesterday, she just sat there watching cartoons .... now my baby (36) who's diabetic, getting tests down his throat and back passage, and he's seeing lights in his eye ...

Know we have to wait for results, but this is like the straw that broke the camel's back ... it was easier when l went through my mastectomy, l could cope with that ... can't talk to family as they are all coping with their probs ... so sitting here waiting to know he's gonna be o.k ... want to scream,  no more ... just give us a break for awhile ... I'll come back tomoz and take life on and be strong again as l tell others , cancer wants us to break ... so I'll just have my rant at it and go back to hold on to this rollercoaster and put two fingers up to it again ... think he's gonna brake me... not with you lot here, it's  not ... Chrissie xx

Oh thank you soooo much, lady G ... never heard that before .... Will remember that one always ... couldn't stop crying while he was having tests, they took 3 hours and was sobbing when he called to say he was out ... but think I'd been holding tears in for too long ... your reply has made me feel so much better .... thank you .... Chrissie ❤

Oh Chriss,

I am so sorry to read about the health problems in your family. Dont blame you for having a rant.

I always feel things are easier to dael with when its you that has the problem Seeing other go through it is in my opinion far harderfor your trying to stay strong for them but falling apart inside.

I have just lost a sister and step mother  within a few days of each other. They both lived in Canada and I never got to know them well but Its hard to support my other two sisters and brothers who live out there because of the distance.

I hope you get good news quickly, Sending hugs for now, Brian.

my son got bit of info that it is lumps partly blocking gut and windpipe but doesn't look like anything  sinister  ... but that was just bit of results, so won't get too exited till he gets o.k from Dr... but think l needed that cry, as feel better for it ... thank you again ... Chrissie  xx

What an awful day.   So pleased his tests are done now.  Life does seem to do this sometimes - gives you too many trials at the same time.  I know you would storm Hell itself and take on the devil for the sake of your son.  Never take on a loving mother - you won't beat her!  People here have got your back even though there is not a lot we can do to help please believe we are thinking of you and wishing you well.  You deserve it and more.  Go, Chrissie,  go.  But have a little weep when you need to.

Thanks rilleyroo and annieliz ... It just hit me out of the blue ... Thought I'd be strong for him, but just crumbled ... Waiting 3 hours at home on my own was horrible ... He has been the bravest lad l know, never grumbled or moaned about his diabetes.... And it was a lot harder years ago .. had to inject day and night... Bloods checked 3times a day ... No chocolate unless he was going low ... And he took everything on and I'm in awe of how he did ...

I kept crying in the early days after l was told it effected his eyes, could even have feet amputated if his control wasn't kept in check ... he said to me a couple of months after  diagnosis... " I can take the diabetes, but can't handle seeing you cry"  Still does  everything poss to keep healthy .. he's Emily's daddy ...

So thank you all, l know you would all be there for me ... I'm very honered to have all you vertual buddies .. and touch wood it's something he can sort ... Big hug to you all. ... Chrisie xx

Hi Criss,

Lets all hope that it is nothing bad when your son gets his final results. It so hard waiting for them though as the mind works overtime.

. I feel the same about my wifr as she is diabetic and has to have 5 injections a day some of which I do for her. She also has about ten other health problems plus she has to put up with me ha ha. I am also diabetic but am only on tablets.  I dont know how she copes at times with all her problems and just occasionally she does get very low. I have on the odd occasion had to be very firm with her to try and not let her get too low.

I always think of crying as natures safety valve for it releases those built up emotions. Until we or someone we love has a seriouse health problem we dont always appreciate just how powerful a force emotions are. Which is why crying is good for it releases our built up emotions.

Take care and know that your friends are here just as you have been for many of us on this great forum. Hope you have a peaceful weekend, Brian..
