Ureter

Not sure what to ask or detail. So, to start my healthy mum, young 71, has recently had a hysterectomy and some fatty stomach lining removed due to suspected ovarian cancer . However , the mass had taken the kidney out, and during surgery a further suspect tumour found in the ureter . A stent was inserted in the first instance .

Diagnosis today was that ureter primary ovarian secondary . We are now to discuss the position with a urologist. The ureter is messed up and there is some entanglement with the main artery.

other than recovering from the initial surgery my mum is well . We did not expect to hear this and don't know what to think of the metastatic nature.

does anyone know of a similar experience and trails that have presented a more extended pathway?

thanks

  • A warm welcome to our forum, KST.17.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum although I'm glad to hear that she's well after her surgery.

Hopefully some of our members who are in a similar position will soon be along to share their experiences with you and offer advice.

Also, our cancer nurses are just a phone call away if you feel like speaking with someone medically trained might help. You can reach them by calling this phone number: 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Best wishes to you and your mum,
