Update on biopsy results.

After waiting three weeks for results of biopsy in my neck, doctor finally called me this morning to tell me it has came back suspicious and she has ordered further testing which she thought would have been done so she is emailing them today. I just finished chemo in november and my last ct scan in December was clear so when she found another lump in my neck on my second follow up appointment she was concerned. She did say It’s in the salivary gland and not lymph node but the test will tell more if the lymphoma has came back. When I got the call from ENT doctor first time round, he said I had a grey area in salivary gland then told me I had lymphoma. I’m confused as I thought this was the same and the chemo sorted it all. I’m now worried if the salivary gland is my problem. Has anyone else had this problem? More waiting again now, she is posting me an appointment to see her this month.  Thanks for reading this post x

  • Hi scones,

This must be a very stressful time for you as you are waiting to find out what this all means and I hope you do get some answers very soon.

I hope you will meet others here who have been in a similar position before. The wait can often seem endless and I hope the appointment gets sorted quickly.

Keep us posted if you get a chance. We'll be thinking of you and keep everything crossed for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi scones,

i see your problems was your salivary gland.. was it a round lump that you we’re able to feel under your jaw?

  • Hi, I’m afraid it was a little round hard lump, unfortunately my NHL had came back but as I have no B symptoms and feel ok, I have been put on watch and wait as it’s too soon to do more chemo. My X-ray also showed my lymph nodes at each side of my lungs are also growing back. I’m very disappointed about this but glad no further treatment atm as long as I’m well. Just back to hospital every three months probably for a long time but I guess it’s sumthing I will have to get used to.

  • Hey just wanted to ask, how are you doing now? Is everything good now?

  • Hi, it's been a very strange year, things are still the same, I'm still on watch and wait, havnt had any hospital visits, only a telephone appointment. I was always worried going on my three month appointments but came out a bit relieved as my consultant thoroughly checked me for more lumps. I'm due another call in two weeks. Not had any scans to see what the ones in my lungs are doing. On the bright side I've not really had any "B" symptoms, she did send me to the hospital for bloods and my own GP has just done some to let her see if anything going on. This is about 18 months on watch and wait so I can't really complain. I still have the lump in my neck but I don't think it's got bigger. The last time the lump was very noticeable so I'm quite happy. Thank you for asking how I am, I hope you are well.
