They are quite good the ultrasound Ive had a few now they used it yesterday to guide the biopsy in to the lumps in my boob. I think initially they can see if it’s a cyst or something they can identify rather than straight to biopsy x take care x 

Hi Claire.  As BiddyBiddy said, ultrasound is a very versatile and useful scan method.

I would guess that your GP thinks this may be a lymph node and ultrasound is particularly good for checking this.  It is very common for a lymph node to swell and cause a lump, and this usually a reaction to an infection nearby - and often you won't be aware that you have an infection at all. 

So, please try not to worry. Remember most lumps turn out not to be cancer, but your GP will want to be 100% sure.
