Trouble sleeping

I really have trouble sleeping, sometimes I'm still awake at 3&4am. Sometimes it's because of bone pain other times I just can't switch off

  • Hello Tracey.  I had to look up myeloma as I didn't know what it was but now I understand the link with your bone pain.  Good for you being in remission for some time now - were you told that bone pain might be a problem sometimes?  Are you able to get an appointment with your GP so you can discuss this and perhaps get some help?  (I ask if it is possible as at the moment there are no appointments available at our local surgery.)  It is not nice to lie awake for hours especially if you are in pain.  Perhaps if you put a question in the "Ask the Nurses" section they may be able to help.  Of course it is sometimes difficult to switch off and get to sleep even if you are not in pain.  I have several mind games for when I cannot sleep.  For instance, think of five girls (or boys) names beginnign with A, B, C etc.  Think of capital cities beginning with A,B,C etc.  I usually drop off before too long.  Of course what works for me might not work for you.  I always have a cup of cocoa and a good book at bedtime also.  Best wishes for getting a bit of good shuteye.

  • Hi there Tracy... I've got same problem a lot of nights ... one of the things that help me is going on u tube and put in sleep meditation ... there are some good ones there.. I leave it playing, get confi and im usually away by bout 15 min ... if that don't work, put Westlife on there, then even if I can't sleep, enjoy the music ... maybe an idea to see if your Dr can help ... they gave me Dulsilupin and one an hour before sleep is a good back up ... chrisie xx
