  • Hi, I'm sorry to read your post I hope I can help.

I had Grade 3 Stage 1 Ductal Carcinoma Her2- Oestrogen positive node Negative in Oct 21, I had a lumpectomy, I went back to get clear margins, im 38 with two young sons. I then had 6 rounds of chemo FEC-t every 3 weeks followed by radiotherapy and I'm now on hormone tablets called Anastrole for 5 years.

Are you having Chemo before your operation?

I was the same as you! A nervous wreck, once I had my appointment with the Chemo Nurse who went through everything with me I felt fine.

chemo is not as bad as they say. Side effects can be treated and you will get used too it, I kept thinking it's not forever, yoh will be okay,, take each day as it comes ! You have got this !!

  • Hi Chaz, Sorry you are feeling anxious. I also have a Grade 3 IDC, HER2 positive, hormone negative, positive lymph node. Do you know your sub-type (hormone or HER2 receptor status)? I've finished chemo, and MRI shows that the lump is gone. Surgery planned in a couple of weeks after which we will know if the chemo has killed off all the cancer cells. Chemo was not as bad as most people think, including me. I had 3 cycles of EC, then 4 cycles of Docetaxel with Herceptin and Perjeta injections (for HER2 sub-type). There are all kinds of meds to help you cope with any side effects. And there's lots of support here, so reach out anytime you need it. Was there anything in particular you wanted advice on? Try to keep busy and distracted. I found that exercise (brisk walk every day) really helped me stay to stay positive and to cope with chemo. Sending lots of love xx

  • Thankyou to you all for your caring messages,

Taking bad as im usually the one looking to see if others are ok, and take everything else in my stride. As yous say its a bump in the way at the moment.

Im stage 2 idc with neg nodes. Hormone positive her2neg .

So im having 4x ec then 4 x docetaxel chemo followed by surgery then possible radio and hormone tabs

Hoping you are all keeping well x

    Thankyou again

  • Hi Chaz

i am sorry to hear of your diagnosis and i am in a similar situation with Stag3c and Her+ and the plan is 18 wks of chemo followed by surgery and radiation . I am due to have me pre chemo bloods and cardiac MRI before the end of the week to start EC chemo which i am dreading but good to read from the others that it is not so bad .. it is the waiting which i an finding dreadful and try and keep busy . I met the people at the cancer charity in my hospital which has been very useful and had a wig consultation and booked a class and massage in the coming days . I am amazed by the support and resources available .

Good luck and keep in touch .

  • Hi Chaz,

I've also been diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ductal cancer too.

They're going to arrange for mri and ct to check for spread, hopefully not. They've mentioned chemo has the first step.

We can do this guys x

  • Hi Chaz, don't know if this would interest you https://polybalm.com/, but I wish I'd known about it before I started on Docetaxel as my nails are starting to lift off the nail bed (I finished chemo mid-Jan and my nails started hurting, thickening and lifting soon afterwards). I have since ordered Polybalm and am using it 2-3 times a day. My nails are looking better after just a few days using it and the lifting doesn't appear to be getting worse. Hope it all goes well for you x

  • Hi Chaz, so sorry to hear this. I have the same cancer and grade as you. I have my second chemo tomorrow.

The waiting for it to start is the worst. You will feel better once you have started your treatment and are tackling it.

Everyone responds differently to chemo. You get a huge list of potential side effects but truth is you may only experience a handful, and may only be mild. It's the unknown that is scary. And you won't know if until you have your first cycle.

If you have any questions let me know.

    All love
