Hi there
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on radiotherapy treatment for the elderly.
My mother is 90 - she had a full/ extended hystortomy 2 years ago and we have just found out that the cancer has returned. She has had a biopsy & an MRI is due this week. She has a small lump at the top of her vagina and her stomach is swollen.
Some sort of internal Radiotherapy has been suggested but I am so worried about her coping with side effects at her age.
Treatment plan pending full results of course.
She is a pretty nervous patient at the best of times and pretty frail too.
Is it worth her going through this ? I just don't want her to suffer more than is necessary.
I know the treatment will cause her a huge amount of stress - she is so worried about the MRI scan.
Your u're thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thank you you very much for reading my post. X
