Totally lost without my dad, mum being unsupportive

Im struggling to cope with the loss of my daddy, he was my strength and now I've fallen out with my mummy because when I said I was upset and couldn't cope she laughed at me. They have not been together for 40 years but he was still my daddy , I know she does not know how to admit defeat with me travellers are a different breed but im hurting so so bad xx

  • Hi there ...

So sorry your going through this heartbraking time... you just lost one who made you .... I can empathise with your mum in a way of after 40 years, there's probly no loved lost there ... but as a mum, it's a shame she couldn't give you a hug instead... to empathise with you too ...

Try and find someone you can chat to .. or write on here just how you feel , sometimes it helps just writting it down ... weather anyone else reads it or not ... it's for you to say and feel those feelings your feeling ... it's o.k ... maybe you can mend bridges with your mum, maybe that hurt you too much ... but as a mum of two boys I'm sending you a vertual hug ... Chrissie....

  • Oh sweetheart, sending you a huge hug! I'm so sorry for your loss. I get your mum might not have much in the way of feelings, but he's your daddy and that love can never be replaced. Its sad she can't understand your loss. Have you got siblings you can talk to? I lost my mum 8 years ago yesterday. The pain gets a bit easier but you never stop missing them. I talk about my mum all the time and we celebrate her birthday and anniversary every year, it helps. Find someone who is happy to talk about your lovely dad and be happy at the memories. Xxx
