It's good you are getting it checked tomorrow. Subungal melanoma can be hard to diagnose but it isn't very common so hopefully yours will be fine. If you want to read other threads regarding this type of melanoma just search for 'subungal' - you will see quite a few members on here have had similar worries. Hi course I will let you know will I know tomorrow at the dermatologists what the out come is do you know what they will do 

Make sure they do an MRI scan and blood test, our GPs wasted 4 months due to NHS budgets etc finally referred my dad to hospital do to MRI and blood test to find out he has myeloma cancer stage 3 not what we wanted to hear. It was a shock to us because he was fully fit guy, who kept fit, walking 2 miles, gardenning, looking after my 3 young kids etc.  But trust me push your GP/ hospital Drs - as you said you know your own body. im too going through the same thing myself I had a bruised nail for over 18 months that the gp dismissed! Had my nail removed a week ago and a full thickness graft! Currently waiting on the result which is hard... feel free to message me if you need to speak to someone in the same situation!

Im doing ok thank you it’s the waiting that’s a nightmare! I had my dressings changed for the first time today and that was a massive shock to see my toe! 

Fingers crossed everything comes back ok for us both. Xx

it started as like a brown spot very small, I thought I might of knocked it although I couldn’t remember doing so, eventually my whole nail became brown/purple and also the skin around my cuticle that’s the reason the have taken the whole nail and nail bed as it has spread so far down. They have said eventually you won’t even notice but at the moment I’m only 1 week post op so it looks awful. X
