Tinitus

Hi

i am 7 months in recovery from tonsil cancer, my last radio and chemo was December .  The last week I have been suffering from tinitus again and it is worse than ever.  Does anyone have any hints or tips?   Also I have had a pain in my jaw and cheek bone since having a hot dog and a drink ar the weekend, barbie.

Just wondering if anyone has had the same sort of symptoms.

Thanks

Tony

  • I'm sorry you're having difficulty with tinnitus again Tony, it must be very difficult.

Two of lovely regulars [@RadioactiveRaz]‍ and [@Anchor1707]‍ are about a year or so in to their recovery from tonsil cancer so hopefully they'll pop by when they can to offer some support and advice. Our cancer nurses are also available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m if you'd like to chat with them about this as well but if it's easier you're more than welcome to make a new post about this in their section of the forum

I do hope this gets more manageable soon Tony but if not, do be sure to pop in to your GP to see if they can help.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Tony

I'm Acnhor1707 (Ian )mentioned by moderator and sorry to hear about your symptoms

Not versed on tinitus but I still have issues with my gums left side tongue and my treatment stopped last November, Had xrays done at dental hospital and was told I had slow healing sockets and some skin loose from radiotherpy. Ive got a few appts coming up to get dental work required.

I should say I had all my back teeth out pre radiotherapy so I'm not sure if your in same boat and had teeth extraction or managed to avoid.
In any case I would suggest going to your dentist than as they would be much better at picking anything up re mouth symptoms and maybe GP re tinitus
Sounds like area still quite sensitive and If your like me it can take some time to heal propely according to consultant and dentist I'm afraid.

Try dentist first to see what they say.

Ive also put a link to my blog that I kept from the getgo and that logs timelines thoughout treatment etc/links to others.

Let me know if I can help further
