but I still feel alone with this even though they r with me on this

I have my chemo assessment tomorrow and should b starting chemo on Monday is there anything I can do to ease the guilt

this is so hard and difficult

  • Hello Hutch1966,

It's normal to feel alone with this even though you have supportive friends and family. This is why you've done the right thing in joining the forum and I hope you will meet others who will understand what you are going through as they find themselves in a similar place.

How did your chemotherapy assessment go yesterday? I hope that it all goes well on Monday. I hope you won't mind but I added the information 'starting chemotherapy on Monday' to your title to attract replies from other forum members who have had chemotherapy before and who will hopefully be happy to share their experience with you. In the meantime, I thought you may want to take a look at our chemotherapy page and the page on our website on throat cancer. I hope it will answer questions you may have but don't hesitate to also give our nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope everything goes well on Monday for you and I wanted you to know that we are there for you and so many others here will have been in your position before and will understand this feeling of apprehension before starting chemotherapy treatment and finding it all overwhelmingly difficult.

I will now let our members come and say hello and share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,

  • No problem if I can help just shout out. It's hard but head and neck cancers respond well to treatment remember that.
