THC OIL

We have been reccomended THC oil for cancer. Has anyone used it? We know it is fairly pricey but the results ive seen so far seem amazing and too good to be true but is it worth the try?  We are also swapping to an acidic/ vegan diet as this apparsntly helps build nee cells and cleanse and breakdown dead cancer cells stopping it spread.

  • Hello cld2018,

Welcome to Cancer Chat! I am not sure who recommended THC oil to you but I just wanted to let you know that as with every complimentary or alternative therapy it is extremely important to let your medical team know you are looking into this. If you haven't mentioned anything to them about this yet then we would recommend you doing so when you next see them as taking this may interefere with any conventional treatment and possibly carry other side effects and risks as well. Cannabis oil is also not legal in the UK.

Although there’s emerging evidence that molecules found in cannabis may one day be used to help people with cancer, we would advise against using black market or home-made preparations of cannabis oil. Not only is it illegal, but because it’s unregulated these products may be contaminated with harmful substances and vary in strength which again may impact on treatment already being given by your medical team. We have a very interesting article on our science blog about cannabis, cannabinoids and cancer just here if you'd like to find out more.

With regards to your question about diet, it is also advisable not to make any changes without talking to your doctor first as they will be best placed to comments on diet issues and give you the best possible suggestions targeted to your individual case.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
