Testicular Cancer - personal perspective

Hi Guys,

I'm currently on my 3rd cycle of Chemotherapy for testicular cancer. At the start, I couldn't find much info on what the process was. I'v e just written a blog on where I am at the moment, please feel free to take a read testicularcancergethsstory.wordpress.com/

Thank you, and good luck!

  • Hi Geth,

I noticed no-one had replied to your post yet so I just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the forum and thank you for sharing your blog with us.

I have no doubt this will be an invaluable source of information and advice to others who are also on this journey.

I look forward to seeing you around the forum Geth and wish you all the best with the rest of your treatment.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Geth,
Just read your blog. Wondering if there's an update? My husband is going through the same..

  • Hi there,

Thanks for reading the blog, hopefully it may have helped in some way or another.

Yes - thankfully I have had the all clear, and following 2 further tests I am still cancer free.

In terms of fertility etc (if this is something you were worried about) - I am still unaware if it has been affected at all. I think it will be a year or so before I can do any further tests to check for this.

I have been able to get back to normal life since my treatment, my hair has grown back and have no side effects, I am able to go back to work 50 hours a week without feeling fatigued at all. Apart from losing my fitness, I have gone back to practically normal.

I hope your husband has successfull treatments and if he has any questions at all I am more than happy to answer them, even if he wants to email me direct rather than do it via an open forum.

    Good luck!

    Geth
