Sorry to hear of your diagnisis and welcome to the forum. My husband was diagnosed with SCC tonsils with lymph node mets in December 2015. Like you we had critical illness cover so we contacted our insurers to see if he was covered.Folliwing going through a telephone interview and our consultant and gp completing some paperwork we were lucky enough to get a full payout. It seems that the payment amount depends on the staging of the disease ie is it ca insitu or has it migrated from the primary ti elsewhere - in his case to his lymph nodes. I wiuld suggest making contact with them and they will guide you through the process- wehad our payout in 5 weeks.
