Hello I'm 48 and was diagnosed at the end of October with triple negative breast cancer.
It started with an underarm lump and then a lump in the left breast.
I had a mammogram and a biopsy and had to wait the standard wait of 2 weeks for the results.
It is just confined to these two areas and I began chemo on 21st November and have had two treatments so far.
My 3rd treatment which should have been last week was cancelled due to me being neutropenic.
It was scheduled to take place next on January 10th but I had a call from my breast nurse today and she wants me to go for an appointment on Thursday for the results of another biopsy which was done before Christmas on my right breast as there was an area on the Mri scan that the radiographer wasn't sure about.
I'm a bag of nerves and finding it impossible to relax fearing the worst about things.
I've had my treatment cancelled now till 15th January which will make it 5 weeks since my last chemo.
I've had no surgery yet as my consultant wanted to shrink both lumps prior to surgery.
I've had ultra sound markets in my left breast and a recent scan revealed massive underarm shrinkage and a stable breast lump.
I've had to have my picc line removed because I developed a clot and it was in danger of becoming infected and I am now having to inject my stomach daily with fragmin which is an anti clotting medication.
I'm just wondering how much more I can cope with and am feeling so low about everything.
I have 3 children age 3, 5 , and 12 and this makes it even more difficult.
Karen
