I can understand why you are confused as to the order in which it will take place. It might be worth ringing your oncologist just to double check that you can start the Tamoxifen before the radiation. You could mention that you were previously told something different.

I hope that you will have a chat here with some of our other ladies who have been on Tamoxifen and that they will share with you the treatment process they experienced. [@Nessemo3]‍ might be a good person for you to talk as I think she is currently on Tamoxifen and has already had radiotherapy so she would be able to tell you the order in which it all happened for her.
