Syringe Driver

Hi,

I've read many posts on this site over the last few weeks, it's a brand new world to me and I appreciate everybodys posts - I would say more than you know, but I know you know :( But I thank you so much. It makes me so sad that we are all in the same boat but at different parts of the ocean x

We were told that my mother in law had 'hopefully' a year last month. She seems to be really going downhill fast and i'm now mad at myself for being ungrateful for the year because i was so upset hearing this at the time! They have a syringe driver ready as she has had a lot of days pain (Liver cancer, spread to spine and bones). I just don't know much about it ( I have read previous posts) but does anyone similar have an experience like this.

I keep thinking we will have a lovely summer with her to then thinking it' any day :(. I know nobody can tell, I just wondered if anyone had a similar situation, thanks x

  • Hello G82

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mother in law's diagnosis. It's obviously been an incredibly difficult time for you all and it's understandable that you're experiencing lots of conflicting emotions.

We do have some information about syringe drivers on our website which may be helpful but I'd suggest you give our team of nurses a call as well. I'm sure they will be able to give you some further information, advice, and support. If you'd like to chat with them, they're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
