I went to my GP recently about a mole that I was concerned about as it had gotten darker, risen and was itching. The next day I had a letter referring me to the hospital as I was showing symptoms of cancer. I’m worried as I don’t know if I’m noticing other symptoms or if I’m overthinking things like I’m having very bad headaches and I’m experiencing pain by my right shoulder blade, is this related?

    Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had concerns about a mole.

    We know that it can be a worrying time when yout GP refers you to see a specialist. It's possible that the headache and pain in your shoulder could be caused by the anxiety you're feeling at the moment. 

    Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment but in the meantime it might help you to talk things through with one of our team of nurses. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I'm sure that they'll be able to answer some of the questions you have at the moment and offer some support and reassurance.
