Hello There 

I have had almost the exact same experience as you! I had the ultrasound on a node that was been up for maybe a year now, I had it in June and the sonographer wouldn't tell me anything but asked if the ENT was concerned when he initially felt the lump, obviously this scared the Jesus out of me and he also said he would have to do a report and send to the ENT. 
 

Someone from the ENT department called me a week later and said the node was reactive and nothing from the images points towards cancer, I explained I've had this for almost a year but they said sometimes they just don't go back down and it hasn't grown in that year either which is a positive.

I also had an echo ultrasound on my heart and they gave me the results instantly! My guess is that when it comes to lumps they can't really tell you what it is until they confirm the size and diameters and all that stuff with the charts they have for reference.

 What I have taken from this is not to pay any attention to the radiographer, I'm sure you will be fine also :)

I've just created an account to reply to you. I had an ultrasound two weeks ago due to a lump behind ear, was told it's two small cysts and a lymph node. No concerns but repeat in 4 weeks to monitor. I went back Wednesday and saw somebody different who advised cysts still there and lymph node same size thinks it's reactive to infection etc. 
 

he then asked me to take off my mask and started scanning my neck (previous Us didn't do?!) then went quiet and asked if I'd had my neck scanned before etc. He told me there was a nodule on thyroid and that they are common but he will look at it more later and wait for official report from

gp. I asked again about it and he just said wait for report from

gp in abojt a week. 
 

The following day gp rang and has told me I need a biopsy doing. Im

guessing the shut down from the US person was to avoid giving false info as he had observed some concerning characteristics. The GP has said it's practice to have the biopsy done. 
 

I know it doesn't really reassure you but maybe it gives a bit of insight into another experience. I'm trying not to worry LOL but like you I'm bricking it really.

Hello, I hope you and others who have posted on here have been given good result and you are all keeping healthy.  My own daughter had been experiencing swollen lymph nodes in her neck and armpit.  She went to the doctors today (unfortunately she wanted to go by herself as she has recently turned 18). She is also going to get an ultrasound soon and blood tests done.  They did intimate there was probably nothing to worry about, but I am worried sick although my daughter is putting on a brave face xx

Thanks for your message. I can completely understand why you would be worried! I have been fine since my post and all of my tests came back normal. My lymph nodes in neck and armpit are still swollen and have been like so for about a year. I do think swollen lymph nodes are fairly common and can have benign explanations. Interestingly also since my post, my partner and I confirmed that we had Covid in March 2020 which was around the same time my lymph nodes became swollen. I was totally asymptotic and didn't think at the time that could have contributed, but in retrospect the timing is interesting. I hope that helps!! Good luck with everything.

Hi guys. Just been reading through some of these comments. My 20 year old daughter had been getting swollen Lymph nodes in her neck for about 8 months. She has been given various antibiotics and it disappears for a month but then comes back. She saw an out of hours Dr on Friday who asked if there is cancer in the family and told her she needs an ultrasound. I'm absolutely petrified as is she. So now it's a waiting game until we have that but I'm struggling with it. Thank you for reading

After a series of blood tests, seeing an ears, nose, throat specialist and having an ultrasound, Jess's results were confirmed as being non suspicious, but still do not know what was causing the problem.

I really hope your own daughter gets good news.

I agree, the wait caused a number of sleepless nights
