Swollen lymph nodes all over my body, neck, groin, chest...

I've got swollen lymph nodes all over and have done for quite some time.

I have three in my neck, one large one in my groin, one in my stomach (about 4inches right and online with my belly button) and a smaller but noticable one in my chest.

I have had bloods which all came back okay (only slight difference in thyroid but nothing major and to be retested in a month to 6 weeks)

I also had an appointment with ENT on Wednesday last week who couldn't be certain therefore have referred me for ultrasounds and potential biopsy which is on Tuesday coming.

I have had aching limbs on and off for a number of weeks now. My arms and legs ache, feel numb and uncomfortable and have been keeping me awake.

I can't say that I've been feeling unwell (apart from tiredness but I have 2 young children and we are on lockdown so that could explain that!)

I haven't been sleeping properly through sheer worry. I'm looking for a bit of advice, for someone to share experiences with etc as I am feeling a little lonely with the whole situation.

Has anyone else had swollen lymph nodes in this many locations before? What has been the cause? Any help/advice/response would be great.

Sophie x

  • Hi [@SMH1312]‍

When I can't share any experiences with you I just posted to wish you luck with your upcoming hospital appointments. I understand your anxiety, maybe you could post on ask the nurses forum, or phone htem, they cant give you a diagnosis but they can listen to your worries.

I am sory you are feeling so anxious and hope that all works out well and that you can come and let us know how it goes.

  • I really appreciate your message. Thank you so so much.

It's such a worrying time and the more I think about it the worse I feel and think it's not likely to be good news.

I shall maybe see about posting elsewhere as well.

I will let you know how I get on, thanks again x

  • Hi [@SMH1312]‍

I'm sorry I couldn't say more to help.

Could you look online for anxiety reducing techniques.

Maybe post on ask the nurses forum, htey cant diagnose but they are experienced nurses and are bettter at communicating than me.

  • Hi Sophie, sorry to hear about how your feeling but don't worry your not alone.
lymph nodes usually do swell up when our body is working hard to fight off something. Like a infection or virus however,it can also be due to hormones imbalance. It's good you went to see ENT they will  be able reassure you if it's thyroid/ hormone related. I have most of the symptoms you have mention when I skip my thyroid meds for Afew days so it's worth getting it checked by ENT. Sometimes our bodies don't make the amount of thyroid hormone we need which cause these symptoms. In my case stress also makes my lymph nodes swell. So I can imagine during the lockdown everyone stress levels are high. Just try to keep hydrated and lots of fresh Fruit/veg to boost your immunity. All the very best I hope it's nothing serious and you feel better soon.
