Ive not been diagnosed with cancer but it's on my mind...A few weeks ago I noticed a small painless lump on the left side of my neck...its just under my jaw but sits on the front of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, the first dr said it feels like a swollen gland n if it didn't go down in a week to come bk...I went back as it hadn't gone down if anything had become slightly more prominent, he gave me the details to book in to the head and neck lump clinic within 2 weeks...realising the dr hadn't checked my ears I went back to another dr of which she checked my ears and all was fine...she also could feel the lump and said it's best I keep my appt at the hospital.

I went to the appt and the consultant felt my neck, standing from behind me...he said he couldn't feel a lump I had to point it out as it becomes more obvious if I turn my neck to the right, he still said that basically there wasn't much there...this didn't help my worries as 2 drs felt it and said it felt like a swollen lymph node, and to me it's becoming more prominent...hes referred me for a scan which I have on tuesday, I'm still concerned...I lost 3 stone within 6 months last year (up until december) I had a couple of night sweats...I did go through quite alot last year...there was a domestic violence incident which went to court so I feel the weight loss was due to stress triggering my IBS, I get tired alot...even after a good night's sleep, but my folate and iron levels are mildly low... I'm a mum and I'm worried for my kids, has anyone at all had any lumps in the same place as me? What did it turn out to be? I had blood tests a few months ago for the tiredness of which the folate and iron levels came bk mildly low but everything else seemed fine...sorry for the long post!!
