Welcome to Cancer Chat. Unfortunately I'm not able to advise on this, only to say that there could be many things to explain this, not just cancer - so try not to assume the worst at this point. The test you have booked in will provide more information. Three weeks may seem like a long wait, but try to keep yourself busy while you wait, to keep your mind off things.

Also do avoid Googling it as the information is often irrelevant and/or outdated, and tends only to lead to further worry.

Hi thanks for the reply I managed to get my ultrasound scan done today and the lady didn't seem to concerned she said she couldn't see anything,so I asked her about my liver and she said the ultrasound wouldn't be able to see it or something which I found strange

So feel like I got no where but the mass is still there 

She said it could be my bottom rib lol but its different from the left side

What has happend since I have had the same problem 

Hi to be honest they didn't say much it was quickly scanned and I was told by my doctor it looked like a fatty cartilage or something.

I'm still worried and it doesn't feel right and with all the covid things going on felt like it was rushed a little bit I was in and out the ultrasound within 5 mins 

Hi, I have something similar under my left rib cage. It’s also been coupled with abdominal pain in the left side. I was instructed by 111 to go to A&E which I did over the weekend. They thought the pain could be attributed to kidney stones but stayed quiet on the lump and suggested they will refer me for a CT scan. Now I’m anxiously awaiting a phone call to book the CT scan appointment, hope they don’t keep me waiting too long.

i sm going through the same at the moment. 
 

i have a swollen lump on my right side under my ribs. It's a little painful to touch and I have been having a stitch like dull ache the last few days. 
 

I am 31 and just been referred for an ultrasound which could take up to 6 weeks and some bloods in a couple of days. 
 

feeling very anxious about it all.  

Hi i have the same little lump under my right rib and it is slightly sore when i touch it.  I am also 31. I have been meaning to book an appointment but scared as im already thinking the worst. Hope yours went well.. has anyone had any news back from this?

So all my bloods came back fine except I am folate deficienct and so I am on folic acid. 
 

I have my scan on 20th March - ages away I'm so anxious about it all still and have recently been to a&e with a suspected DVT too so I have a Doppler scan on my leg tomorrow. 
 

what I hate is that it all seems to point to negative things for me. 
 

honestly though if you are worried go and see the GP it might be something nice and simple :) 

Oh okay hope your scan goes well tomorrow.. if its any comfort i had a dvt when i was like 21 im 31 now.. in my leg too. I just got put on blood thinning tablets and it dissapeared :) i wouldnt think the worst of that. It could from something as simple as not walking around enough.
