Hi there. I’m two years post radiotherapy and still get swelling on the breast that was treated.

Mention it next time you have an appointment with the breast care staff. Got to be honest, mine were not helpful but they are the exception not the rule. 

I've been having a terrible  time with the breast staff at my hospital  being not the least bit interested  since I've finished  treatment  and not returning my calls.

Sounds familiar. Thought it was just where I went. 

Its causing  me major  stress because  they are making me join a long waiting  list for a bilateral  masectomy  and I'm Brca 1 with a high risk of a further tumour  yet knowing  this the breast nurse said I can wait 5 years!

I'm living in constant  fear since my Brca result and I just want the surgery as genetics  advised me.

That’s not good. Can you get any support from the genetics people? I think one of the other ladies on here [@Jolamine]‍ had issues with the first hospital or consultant she dealt with and managed to transfer, don’t know what the protocol for that is but it might be worth consideration. 

Hi yes thanks  I'm in the process of trying to do this as I suffer with severe anxiety  and they are aware of this but are still not putting  themselves  out to help me and forever putting obstacles in the way.

Very unhelpful. Dealing with a cancer diagnosis and going thro treatment is hard enough, you’ve also got the genetic issues to handle as well. 

I'm expecting  a call from my genetics counsellor  tomorrow  as to what to do next as knowing  what I know about the genetic  side is not helping me with trying  to move forward.
