Hi Paulus,

I'm so sorry for your grief and devastation. My mom had a mini stroke three months into her chemo and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors said it wasn't related to the chemo and she recovered very swiftly. I hope that you can find comfort through all of this somehow. This cancer is a beast, but we can all fight it together.

Thank you for your kind words liz had mild stroke 18 months previously but was ok in a few hours .this was a majore stroke but people i have learnd can be prone especially after chemo they dont know why but its supposed to make you blood more sticky which i didnt know about so it was a double shock to me stroke friday morning cught sepsis then died 4 oclock sunday morning so ime still in disbelief at it all and the speed it took her but i suppose it was a blessing but it still doesn't feel like that .but thank you again regards paul

I am so sorry for the loss of your wife. I didn't know about the relation between chemo and strokes. I wish you healing and comfort during these tough times.

Thats ok it was kind of you to reply as to me in my wildest dreams i never would of thought of that myself thats why ime so shocked and unbalanced over it ithought i had investigated everything but within 5 mins of stroke all lizzies chances of survival had gone .best wishs to you though regards paul

Oh Paul, so so sorry ... Just seen your post ... Cancer is crule ... I wish l could find words to help, but there's no words to take that pain away ... Just hold on, take one day at a time ...

Hi i am sorry to hear of your loss i too had breast cancer last year and few days after my 1st chemo i had a pancreatic attack then agsin few days aftwr my 2nd chemo i took a stroke its now over a year since then and im still struggling to get back from my stroke and am always looking foe answers why this happened 

Hi there i asked that question oncolygest said they dont know but cancer and chemo drugs make your blood sticky so its sluggish i put it on a lot of posts now how important hydration is and excercise when people are having chemo something so simple gets overlook i had to be on at liz all the time to drink but in my wildest dreams i never expected that i took here temp twice a day blood presser oxygen levels but this rotten disease is so unpredidictable. but still important for you to drink plenty as it will still help you cancer sufferers need more fluids i think than normal . Funny all that i did and i think i felt more guilty .but this site and the people on here have realy helped me get through this so i come on trying to give a bit back with practical advice liz had many bouts of pancreatitis and got pretty ofei with that its so painful so my sympathys to you for that you can get some comfort from why it happens .best wishs  ps liz had two types of cancer .but her chances were taken away by poor slow drs there is a legal investigation over it now . P

I too am so so sorry you've lost your darling Liz to this terrible disease of any form of cancer. From your last post I can see in May, it seems that you did all that was humanly possible to help her & comfort her. Sometimes unfortunately doctors don't respond as soon as we hope they would & I do hope you receive a positive outcome of the investigation. Of course it won't bring back your dear wife, but it may help them to react faster to the more susceptible in us.

I can't believe that after being 10 years 'cancer free' it took a locum doctor in my Pain Management Team at the hospital to send me for an MRI scan of my lower spine as I've had debilitating pain for years & am now physically disabled due to the pain. The scan came back after 2 months (this October) to show that I have it 2 of my spine. So I was sent for CT scans which now show it in 5 of my vertebrae, 2 ribs, both hips & in my pelvis.

The oncoligist said it had been there for quite some time. So why didn't my GP send me for an MRI any time during the last few years? It certainly wouldn't be as bad as it now is would it?

I just thank God that I saw a locum doctor because no-one else had sent me for a scan.

Paulus - I just hope that you can find the strength every day to get up & carry on as best you can. If you have a really down day, please don't be hard on yourself. Be kind to yourself & scream, shout, cry, come on here. Whatever it takes to help you grieve & get you through the day. Sometimes even the smallest things are easier to talk to 'strangers' aren't they? They may be small things to others, but to all of us on here & many others, they are HUGE.

Hi lynne thank you so much for your reply ime so sorry you are going through this yes your right thank goodness for that locombe but the out come would have been so much better if not for your blasi'e gp i dont we all bless the nhs nut with other things ive seen my view now is getting a bit jadded . It got to the point were i refused to let them put canualas in lizs hand till either i had warmed the back of lizs or they had as it gave her such pain as soon as i did that her vains popped up and little pain then all for a few minutes extra care there were so many times i had to suggest! Things that they missed suggest so they didnt get annoyed ime getting through it now after six months long way to go yet but not in that terrible dark hole i was in before . But more importantly yourself i cant give medical advice .turmeric with black pepper has marvelouse rattings its only a supplement and anyone should speak to oncolygist first but i took it as well as liz and took the sciatica and sacroilic pain i suffer away its supposed to be an antioxidant but allso an antiimflamatory better than ibrufon and dosant damage stomach so once again thank you i am very touched by your message and truely hope the outcome for you is as good as possible bless you paul
