My husband was diagnosed with Oesophigal cancer a year ago and has had the chemo and Radiotherapy. Although they said it had shrunk he was having problems eating. He could eat small amounts if he took his time.

They suggested a stent which he had put in in August and since then has been in the most incredible pain. We spoke to the hospital about this immediately and they replied this was normally and the pain would go away.It never has.

About a month later whilst having one of his huge couging fits he brought up a round plastic disk. We showed it to the hospital and they suggested that it must have been something that he had swallowed previously.(although he hadnt eaten or swallowed anything in months) so we have been advised to speak with pals or complaints.

They are now suggesting another stent as the last one did nothing and they are saying that the tumour must have grown around it or it has dislodged or something. Has anybody had a second stent fitted that has actually worked?
