Any advice ??

my partner is his mid 30s and  is currently undergoing a stem cell transplant. We always planned children and at the last minute he has decided not to freeze his sperm and is quite convinced he will die of  CML

I understand this is a difficult time but he refuses to see anything positive at all obviously yes I want to support him but I want to settle and have children and this is now off the cards

Hello Sls.

I'm sorry to hear that your partner is struggling with things at the moment. I can see from a previous post that he was diganosed just over a year ago. Your posts sound as though it's been a difficult year for him with treatments and it's possible that all of this has begun to take it's toll on him emotionally and psychologically.

It's unfortunate that he changed his mind about preserving his fertility at the last moment and I can understand why this may have caused upset. This may be a decision that he later regrets but from your post it sounds as if at the moment he's struggling to get through each and can't plan ahead.

Your particular situation is not one that we often have people post about on the forum. I wonder if you may find more people who have been through a similar experience if join the Bloodwise Community. You should be able to connect with more people who have experience of CML.

I'm sure that your partner appreciates your support with everything that you've both been through since he was diagnosed. If you'd like to chat to our team of nurses about your situtation please do give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

Best wishes,
