Stay Strong

Well the fish finger sandwiches I tempted him with after chemo are fighting back!  Hubby has terrible indigestion and looks pale.  This second dose always makes him bad, I suppose it's the three doses in eight days that brings you down.  No cooking tonight just cups of tea and biscuits, maybe I can survive on wine, better not in case the pain gets worse and I need to drive, like I keep saying, I want my life back!!  Some friends visited this morning which was nice but June has early onset dementia,  she's my age and it's heartbreaking trying to hold a conversation,  words are forgotten and I spend most of the time filling in the gaps, she doesn't mind though, I know there's something wrong she tells me but it doesn't bother me!!  These words sum up her situation,  all is well she tells me.  Getting older is no fun!!  See you tomorrow.  Carol

  • That's such a shame the fish fingers didn't settle too well with your husband Carol. I hope his indigestion didn't last too long and he's feeling better now.

How many more sessions of chemo does your husband have left? It can be very tough when treatment dominates your life but I think you're doing really well and hope that you can start getting some normality back in your lives soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Chemo has finished now.  Scan done, radiotherapy 24th August.   I'm not sure what happens after this is done as told cancer only treatable.  Any clues as to how it's kept under control would help.  Carol
