Squamous Cell Lung Cancer Questions

Hi, I'm new to this board so thank you in advance to anyone for any advice. My heart is broken.

My Dad has Squamous Cell Lung and Neck Cancer, this is the 3rd time in 3 years. We found out today he has a year at most.

They are going to start him on palliative chemo and possibly a clinical trial for immune therapy, we will find out more next week as the news hit him hard so they cut the appointment short.

Patience or lack thereof has led me here as I would like to know the possibility of taking him, my mum, my husband and I away for one last holiday in the sun together. At present other than a cough and having to use fortisips as food he’s doing ok.

Has anyone managed to do this? Since 1st diagnosis I've taken him to Rome and Athens 2 places he dreamt of seeing, making more memories and seeing that smile of his is worth everything in the time we have left.

Many Thanks x

  • As I noticed this is your first post with us and that you haven't yet received a reply I wanted to pop here to say hello and welcome you to the forum, Peppa14.

What a sad situation your dad is in, no wonder you're concerned and frustrated. It is great though that you seem to be making the best out of the time with your dad, taking him to all these lovely places and creating nice memories together.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in similar situation with their loved ones who were affected by cancer will be along shortly to give support and share their stories with you, until then post as much as you want, we are here to listen.

    Warm wishes,
