Spouse with metastatic oral cancer spread to lungs

Hi I'm new on here, and was just looking for I dont even know. To see what others have done to cope. My husband is 2 years into oral cancer spread to distal lung as of last week. We have had 3 operations, and crazy enough 2 primary cancers. In between the oral cancer popping up they found renal cell in his kidney and we lost that in March. 2 occurrences where we had surgery  lympnode  lympnode and small tumor under chin, and small tongue lesion... all in 3 surgeries removing cAncer. Now we have biopsy results that the lung nodule and lymph node is indeed cancer. They are throwing around radiation and immunetharpy...chemo, and I insisted thoracic surgery on to see about removal of those CV spots if possible. The doctor was honest in saying no cure at this point. He is still strong. How long or what is the timeline for this. What do I expect. He is only 46 and we have 2  small children. Any advice orvstory I would love to hear. I'm scared and yet I have to be strong...

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Julie although I'm really sorry to read what you and your husband have been through. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this journey has been for you both, but hopefully the next course of treatments for the lung nodule and lymph node can help give you and your husband as much time together as possible.

Your husband's doctor or medical team will be in the best position to answer your questions about the timeline but hopefully some of our members who have found themselves in a similar position to yourself will stop by soon to share their experiences with you and offer their support and advice.

    Best wishes to you both,
