  • Hi CAnn53 and welcome to the forum.

We have some general information about the side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy including tips on how to manage some of them on our website here and here, but do give our cancer nurses a call if you'd like to chat to them about this and find out more. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on 0808 800 4040.

I'm going to tag [@littleone58]‍, [@Barnet123]‍,‍ [@jenb]‍ and [@TinaNC]‍ as they may also be able to help by sharing their experiences of supporting their loved ones going through this with you.

I hope this helps CAnn53 and that the rest of your husband's treatment goes well.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello CAnn53 and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to read of your husband's diagnosis with lung cancer. My late husband was diagnosed in January 2016 with NSCLC squamous cell, which was also inoperable  and because of where the tumour was and other health problems he was unable to have any treatment. He did however have 4 doses of palliative radiotherapy with a view to trying to keep the tumour in check and give him a reasonable quality of life.

As he only had 4 doses, the side effects were minimal so I am really not best placed to advise you and I think that moderator Steph's advice and links may be more help to you.

I send caring thoughts to yourself and your husband and I hope that the treatment goes well.

    Lynne.

  • Lynne...I am sorry for ypur loss and appreciate your reaching out to me. I will seek these avenues for support.
