Some advice please

Hi, my aunt has been vomiting blood clots, not eating, nausea, and losing weight, which led her to be taken to hospital. Her blood test results have come back as CA125 50 and CA19-9 546. What does this mean? Does it definitely mean she has cancer or is there a possibility that she has something else, less serious?

Thank you for your support and advice :)

  • Hello SoniaO

I'm sorry to hear that your Aunt has been unwell recently and this has led to her being admitted to hospital.

The tests that you've mentioned can be used as part of a cancer diagnosis but there are other conditions that could cause her results to be raised. Presumably, the hospital is looking to investigate things further such as with a scan. Hopefully, this will bring more news and some firmer answers about what is causing her symptoms.

I do hope you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
