Small lump near anus - help

Im 17 and have found a weird lump by my anus when wiping. Its not like a spot, cyst, boil, ect but more of a small round ball pertruding from the skin. I havent had anything like this before so im slightly scared. It hurts slightly when pressure is applied.

Can anyone tell me what this could be and if I should worry about it?

  • Hello Nnon and welcome to our forum,

Unfortunately no one on the forum will have the ability or knowledge to tell you what this might be and the best thing to do in your situation is simply to book an appointment to see your doctor and show them that small lump and I am sure the doctor will be able to tell you exactly what it might be and this will make you feel less worried and reassured.

Don't be embarrassed to show these intimate parts of your body to a doctor as they do this routinely every day. If it makes you feel better you can request to see a lady or male doctor (depending on your preference and whether you are a boy or a girl yourself).

I hope this helps and that you get to see someone soon, You will feel a lot better after you have seen a medical professional about this.

  • Hi,

Could possibly be a small Haemorrhoid? It certainly is a possibility... For some reassurance and confirmation of what this is, it is best to see your GP about it.  Of course it may feel embarrassing for you, but that's the only way to go with this.

Be brave and get it checked out.

    All the best,

    James.

  • Hi George and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I noticed you were trying to get an update from Tyler1234 so I just wanted to let you know that they made that post back in 2019 and haven't returned to the forum since so there's a chance you may not hear back from them.

I do hope they come back and let you know how they are now but if they don't, you could try posting on more recent discussions about this topic or creating your own. If you'd like to start your own discussion you can find out how just here.

    Kind regards,
