Sleeping ideas with an IV pump

hello all

returned home from my 2nd set of chemo after initial chemo/radiotherapy and surgery.

in for an initial blast of oxy and panitumumab, sent home with a 48 hour dose of the rest of my 5fu...

no problems until I get to bed, bearing in mind I have to contend with Donald Trump (illeostomy, named by my 10 year old son due to the noises!!), a flip flop catheter and now the pump. I've been sleeping well on my back and side with the latter 2, but not sure how to position or keep in place the pump and more importantly the tube from the pump to my pic line.

anyone in the same boat that can offer suggestions. I've been advised to take my steroids for twelve noon at the latest, so hopefully they won't keep me up too.

thanka

  • Hello Sean,

Thanks for posting a question to the forum. Hopefully, some of our members who have dealt with the same issue will soon pop by with advice on how to keep the IV pump in place while sleeping, but in the meantime, feel free to give our cancer nurses a call on this number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday, between 9 a.m - 5 p.m. and ask them for suggestions.

I hope you get this sorted soon!

    Wishing you all the best,
