Shaking/Tremors/Seizures

My grandfather has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has been sent home to prepare for his operation to remove it. He has been experiencing extreme shaking/tremors/seizures, not sure what to call them...they last a couple of minutes. The doctors/nurses have not been informed as he does not want to risk being declined for treatment. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community grandaughter12 although I'm sorry to hear of your grandfather's diagnosis.

I can appreciate why your grandfather doesn't want to be declined for treatment but his medical team really need to be made aware of what's happening at the moment as it could be dangerous and potentially life threatening if this occurred during his operation so do be sure to make them aware of this or encourage your grandfather to do so as soon as he can.

If you're still a bit uncertain then do feel free to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and will do all they can help.

I'm sure some of our members will offer their thoughts and advice to you soon as well.

    Kind regards,
