Scares, unwell yet normal blood work

I'm now terrified. I'm 28 and have a little boy who I'm scared I won't be there for.

I've been unwell since the start of the year. But over the past two months I've had diherea, a low grade fever that won't budge, weight loss, and sinus pain. I did also get stomach pain too.

They riled out teavellers diherea, crohns and other bowel diseases, checked my liver, kidneys, thyroids, full blood count, celiacs, all via stool and blood samples and they're all OK. They gave me antibiotics about half a week ago as they really can't tell what's wrong. Yet my temperature is still above 37 and I'm losing weight.

I had a lump in my boob that only my partner and I can find but they said it's probably hormonal. A mole that went pusy and vanished and reappeared but they checked it with a light and said it was OK. My period is on a 21 day cycle and often has a day break in between. I'm not sure if these are relevant at all.

I just keep crying for no reason too.

I'm just so scared and keep thinking it's got to be cancer.

  • I've had a catalogue of symptoms for the last 6-9 months, including hot flushes (I'm a 63 year old man!), pains in specific places including a continual neck pain, tiredness, poor sleep, etc. I also have chronic sinus and IBS, too.  After a battery of blood tests (all normal), X-rays on chest and neck (all normal), etc, I was finally diagnosed with something called Fibromyalgia, which isn't cancer.

  • Thanks. I mentioned this to my doctor but he doesn't think so. How are you coping with it?

I'm also considering addison's as the last year I've just lower salt.

Woke up really shaky tonight. Can't tell if it's because I'm scared or something more physical. I drunk some electrolyte rehydration water which I've been told to drink and it's seemed to help.

  • It appears I have a "mild" case of Fibromyalgia; I certainly wouldn't want a severe case of it, judging from the numerous horror stories I've read about.  I'm coping reasonably well, but much of that is because I'm retired on an adequate pension, so I can pick and choose what I do and when I do it. My sleep pattern is often disturbed - laying awake at night, while having the urge to nap in the afternoons, and a continual pain in the neck (not just the wife!), but I could be worse and the doctor says I might yet recover from it.

I certainly understand what it's like to have an undiagnosed condition. At one meeting with my very sympathetic GP, my wife burst into tears because she thought I had cancer (again). After the normal blood tests my GP was able to reassure her (and me).

Sorry to hear about your shaky wake up. That has happened to me, too, and it's not pleasant.

Let us know how you get on.

  • Thanks. Still getting terrified. So scared it's adrenal cancer or similar =/ I see the GP today and will ask for more tests. I just keep crying right now.

  • I'm being sent for an abdominal ultrasound and bloods for cortisol and the pancreas. Not sure when the scan is yet. Hopefully soon.

Felt very ill this morning and had to see the out of hours GP. He gave me tablets for anti sickness as it was making me feel off.

  • I recognize this post is from a year agai and I do hope you have found answers to your illness. If you have, could you share? I’m going through many similar things and my GP isn’t much help. I’ve had a chest X-ray, abdominal ultrasound and my bloodwork is relatively normal. (Keeping in mind that for years my Platelettes have been in the red too high and at the same time I started to get an insane amount of bruising on my legs, the platelette count dropped from in the red too high to in the border of low but normal. Apparently my doctor doesn’t see a relationship between the 2). I’ve watched countless YouTube videos of cancer patients who have dealt with similar symptoms including “normal blood work etc”. Further pushing and further testing proved they had cancer many months later. Just because blood comes back normal, I wouldn’t bet money that you’re ok. I’m taking my VERY pushy older friend and neighbour with me to the Internist Appointment I have this week as she k owe I won’t be pushy enough and I need an advocate.

    Hope you are well.

  • OMG!! I have exact symptoms as you....

I feel still so ill. Docs tested for all types of cancer but tests all clear. They told me that cells can change.

I still feel sick, dizzy, sinusitis, pain in tummy, feeling full quickly small meals. Low grade temp when I move around goes up to 38.8 at peak.. I swell all over sometimes, very tired must sleep in afternoon.

I am finding it very difficult to keep going.

I even get pain in my eye above eyebrow. All my joints hurt when I get out of bed...

It has been worse, I couldn't walk a few weeks ago, so much severe pain after I collapsed in friends shop.

Doctors puzzled... I have had this befire. They put it down to severe stress... But its so hard when im finding ut difficult to live normal life. Feeling sick is bad enough but all these symptoms and no diagnosis??

Pretty ***... I must say.... Pretty ***... There is Leukemia in my family and some of us whom seem to have these symptoms all have red bloid spots on our skin. Funny because members of family who dont have red spots dont have these symptoms... I wondering if body is warning signals.. My uncle had leukemia for 20 years. The longest to ever have leukemia in UK.. He started off like me now. Same symptoms. Now my other uncle has it. Same symptomscand red spots... Pending leukemia I call it.. Family weakness ...

  • how how are you doing noww? Is everything ok?

  • So Iv been poorly since Feb 2020 and ot sttted with tummy ache and the runs. I then started with a Tasha nd severe side pain and diagnosed with shingles. It slowly got worse and the pain just intensifies and moved around my body. Iv had bowl problems with constipation, bleeding and bloating but so bad I feel like I could birst. After experiencing rally bad stomach pain I saw my GP who did blood test which showed infection and inflammation inthe bowl. Then cut a long story short I had colonoscopy, ultrasound and all sorts. And nothing. Iv made countless trips to the emergent department with abdominal pains nd pain in my legs but they send me home each time. I. Sat and sobbed to doctors and Told them about how ill I feel and the amounT of pain I'm in and nothing. I have had an endoscopy and my stomach is erring but the pain I feel

in my pelvis, legs, back and torso can equate to that surely. I have now started to grow cellulite type lumps on my back thighs and torso. I am not being heard and I aM really worried what do I do

  • I have had piles and abdominal pain  on and off for three months now plus I keep getting new symptoms all the time. I've had infections in my finger and tooth. Chest pain .Headaches and vertigo .Sensitivity to light in my eyes and my hearing is super sensitive. Plus I get pains in my hands and feet and neck and back.Blood tests all normal.Ct brain scan normal.X rays on chest and back normal. Doctors put it down to anxiety but I'm not confident on that diagnoses. I'm really scared now.
