Last week found a lump in my left breast just above the areola went to thr dr next day she said she can feel what i can and it was attached? Got my appointment through for 2nd march scared to say the least and ive got to go on my own it says
A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about the lump that you've found, but you have done the right thing in getting it seen to quickly. It is always a worry when you find something like this and the two week wait seems interminable. Don't worry about going on your own. You will find the staff are all very understanding and helpful.
You don't usually get any results on the first visit. They usually carry out some tests and bring you back after 1-2 weeks to give you the results. At this stage, they will often allow you to bring someone with you.
Not all lumps are cancerous and some people have naturally lumpy breasts. Figures show that for every 8 people referred to the breast clinic only 1 will get get a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still good.
