Scared

Hi, I've just had a biopsy near my throat.  This has happened so fast I'm worried that it could be something bad.  I am waiting for the results which should be back in a couple of weeks.  The  doctors felt my neck and couldn't feel any bumps, but I am being sent for a MRI and Ultra sound scan.  I don't know why, is there anyone that give me guidance please and is this the normal procedure.

  • Hi Kane,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your worries - it's natural to feel this way when you have uncertainty and are waiting for results. It's easier said than done but try not to worry prior to your results - try to keep yourself busy to keep your mind off it.

I'm unsure of your circumstances but the doctors are likely doing a variety of tests and checks so that they can be sure - different tests work in different ways and so multiple ones are often required.

I hope you don't have too much longer to wait to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
