Had CT on chest and they discovered

15cm heterogeneous mass in left upper quadrant in the coronal plane .

Mass is indenting the upper pole of left kidney which is displaced caudally but does not appear to be arising from it .

Also early stage lung cancer 2.2cm probably another primary

So worried,anyone had this .

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling worried. It can be so difficult waiting for results.

Adrenal cancer is quite a rare cancer. If you are diagnosed with adrenal cancer we do have some very good  general  information on our website about this cancer which you can read about  here

I am not sure from your email whether your lung cancer was diagnosed at the same time. It may be that you have been given a CNS (Cancer Nurse Specialist).  If you have been they are useful at helping you through this very difficult time offering support and information.

I do hope that this has helped a bit.  Try to get support and help  from your family or friends.  Keep your self busy whilst you are going through all the different investigations.

If you want to give us a call to talk through any of this with one of our nurses please do so.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040. The lines are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take Care,

    Catherine

  • Although it was said in August the mass was from the adrenal gland based on x Ray.

After pet scan and biopsy it is a Sarcoma in the abdomen.

Referred to Plymouth and they want to know type and sub type.

Meanwhile this mass is growing and it pushes against

my stomach, really hurts now xxxx

  • Hello

What a difficult time you are having.  It is really difficult waiting for the results of tests to find out exactly what is going on.  As you are getting pain make sure you tell your doctor about it.  if your symptoms change or get worse you need to let your doctor know straight away.  It would also be a good idea to ask your GP or the hospital doctors to refer you to the symptom control team.  Even though they have not finished diagnosing you there is no reason why they could not look into getting any pain or other symptoms you have at the moment sorted out for you.  So do get in touch with your doctor and let them know what is going on

  • Today the clinical nurse rang with the type and subtype of the Sarcoma and said the team meeting has a plan.

The sarcoma is wrapped around the pancreas, until they operate they do not know exactly how many organs could be affected poss kidney  spleen .

Waiting now for phone call from consultant and date to go in within 7 days they said.

  • I hope everything goes as well.  It is tough waiting for treatment to start

    Take care
