Not sure how helpful my response will be. I'm 37 years and have been today. They told me my lump is likely benign based on the ultrasound but they took a biopsy which takes up to 10 days to report.  Hope you get on ok.

I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait for your breast clinic appointment. In most cases  the first visit will consist of a chat with your consultant and an examination of your breasts. Most people are then sent for a mammogram, ultrasound and possibly a biopsy. Because younger  breasts are denser, they don't always show up well on mammogram. At your age you may or may not have be given one. 

Occasionally, if your consultant thinks that there is cancer present, they may suggest that this might be so, but it is not until the results of your biopsy return , that you can be sure.

Thank you for replying.  I have a shocking fear of needles.  Capn you give me some idea on what to expect should I have a biopsy please.  I hope your results coming quickly and everything is ok 

Thank you.  Its not like the films is it ha ha.  They seem to find a lump and get a diagnosis straight away.

The waiting is awful.

Unfortunately it's not. Most of us would agree that the waiting is one of the worst times. Try to keep yourself busy to help the time to pass.

Don't worry about needles until you know whether or not you'll need a biopsy.. Not everyone gets one. If you do, you'll have one injection into the breast. I have had this done 5 times and have never found it sore.

Today is the day.  I am surprisingly calm.  Lets find out whats going on so it can be dealt with and I can get on with things x
