Relaxed and ready but tablet problems...

12 Oct 2019 17:22

Hi all,

Had a lovely relaxing week away on a cruise and now ready to start my Radiotherapy therapy on Monday.....feeling very nervous but hoping it's not going to be too bad.....

What a nightmare I'm having with my tablets,Oncologist said Tamoxifen then said no and put me on Letrazole but hasn't told my GP who has only got info on me going on Tamoxifen and dispite GP emailing her no reply.... so GP has kindly given me a week of Letrazole Femara as they are the purest and as I have Multiple Sclerosis this brand should hopefully give me less side effects ..... any thoughts or experiences on them I would be so grateful,I can't take more pains than I already have from my MS

Love to all xxx

Hi Jackie77,

Glad to hear you had a good week away. I see today is the day you start your radiotherapy, so I hope it's all going well.

Sorry to hear about those issues with the tablets - it sounds quite frustrating and hopefully the communication issues will be cleared up soon.

While I can't help with your question, my reply here will boost your post so more people will see it and if anyone has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon. It may also be worth using the search function on this forum to find anything relevant.

Wishing you all the best,

Ben

Hi Ben,

1st one all done and no worrying needed at all,the only thing is my arms ache from holding onto the poles,I wouldn't make a pole dancer lol

The cruise was lovely and relaxing before starting my weeks of hospital Monday to Fridays with an hours  drive each way.... but got to be done!!!
Thank you for your support.

Warm regards

Well done for getting through the first one.  My surgery is tomorrow, today had the dye injected.  Little bit nervous but got my big girl panties on.  Do you really have to hold a pole

Hi,

Yes when you lie on the board you have your arms up and hold onto a pole either side!! I was so nervous but it was nothing to worry about at all.....

Good luck with your operation tomorrow, you'll be fine, maybe ask for anti sickness if a general affects you? And you'll look like a smurf when you get home and wee in blue lol

The hardest bits are nearly over,I was fine after my operation and only had paracetamols after....

are they taking sentinel nodes to check tomorrow? my surgeon was brilliant as told me as soon as I was awake mine all clear!!!
Keep in touch you'll be fine from me a wooz lol

Much love Jackie xxx

Lol well the pole will make it interesting I guess haha

thanks for the tip, no I'm ok with general never affected me before, surprised you only get paracetamol my other surgeries have required tramadol but I'll go with what they say.  Yes they going to take 2 sentinel nodes to test since nothing is showing I believe it's the only way to check.

Not too worried about the actual breast surgery but, they putting the wire in the morning so it guides her???  I hope I get the all clear straight after too, you must have been so relieved x

Hope you get your tablets sorted

Didn't have the dancing gear on lol

I was given ibuprofen as well but didn't need them so didn't take them.

I didn't have a wire but a mag seed which I never felt go in!!!
Everything crossed you don't have to wait,i was lucky that they took 2 out first and they went straight to be checked while they removed the tumour,so was a massive relief....

Hope you've got your sports bras at the ready?
Will be thinking of you tomorrow as I'm pole dancing for the 2nd time lol

Lol what no dancing gear!!??

Thanks for the good luck wishes, I'm feeling calm right now but goodness knows how I will be in the morning.  Still I'm feeling optimistic and what will be will be, see you on the flip side, take care and hope tomorrow's session is as good as today's was.

Hiya,

Might put the dancing gear on when I get to my final session lol

I promise you'll be fine tomorrow I found it was far easier than I thought but did have tears about 3 days after as I think it was then it really hit me..... rest when you get home tomorrow and take your pain killers but I found it was sorer where they took the sentinel nodes from but a very bearable soreness...

Good luck and yes see you on the flip side and at least I can give you info on the Radiotherapy etc...

Thank you so much, all advice taken onboard and very much appreciated.  Yes I heard there's more discomfort with the sentinel nodes than the actually breast op.

I love the idea of the dancing gear for the final pole dance

Hi Hun,

So pleased all went well for you today and glad surgeon happy with you!!

Are you like a Smurf??
Here whenever and keep taking the painkillers, like I said I found paracetamols more than enough to keep discomfort at bay.

Have a good nights sleep and enjoy being waited on!!

Day 2 done and back again tomorrow for 3rd one plus radiographer chat to see how I'm going!!
