Sorry to hear that you're having some health problems at the moment. I've had a look through the forum but can't find any other members who mention having had this. 

Hopefully you will have a date for your appointment shortly and the results will follow quickly. Try to take each day one at a time and not worry too much. We know it's easier said than done! Certainly give Dr Google a miss. He's not always very reliable and is prone to giving rise to more anxiety than reassurance.

yes I have had wart like lesions near my anus caused by AIN, anal intraepitheal neoplasia, This is a pre-cancer condition and goes in stages 0 to 3. Basically abnormal changes to the cells and can be removed with surgery, if this is what you have, and I’m not saying it is because I’m no doctor, it is important to have follow ups after treatment, I was not followed up properly and 4 years later I have anal cancer which could be caused by AIN forming inside the anal canal and it went unnoticed.

AIN is caused by the HPV virus which is transferred from one to another during intercourse. Most people will have had the HPV virus at some time in their lives and won’t know it as with most people it just goes away on its own as does AIN in some cases. The fact you have been celibate for some time may well rule AIN out but I have no idea how long it can stay in your body.

in my case it started on my cervix 23 years ago CIN, then moved to my vulva 18 years ago VIN and finally to my anus 6 years ago and had 2 surgeries to remove it. 

I hope this helps helps even though you could have something entirely different, but if it is AIN they will have referred you quickly and is totally treatable and is not cancer

Hi, I've had what you might have. Eleven years ago, turned out to be cancer. An operation,  then chemo then radiotherapy and it was gone. The colorectal surgeon suggested a colostomy but I asked about the treatment and got it. If you have the same as me go for the same treatment if you can. It works. Good luck. X 

May I ask? What will happen at Colorectal outpatients? Will they HAVE TO biopsy the lump? or would i need a colonoscopy maybe???

Hi, I had to have a biopsy but I was in so much pain I wouldn't let anyone touch it, had to have a general anaesthetic. Try not to worry, I know it's easy to say. XX

Colorectal today ! I don’t need a biopsy after all that stress! He thinks it is scar tissue from an old fissure/pile but they are going to remove it none the less under a general !
