Recurring ovarian cancer

My name is Kath and I have recurring ovarian cancer.  It started in 2012 when I had major surgery including a hystrectomy.  I recovered well and had no symptoms until 2016 when I started to bleed.  Since then I have had further exploratory surgery a year ago but there was no option but to remove my bladder, bowels, and have a full pelvic clearance.  I cannot bear the thought of this as I have seen the results at first hand whilst hospitalised.  Yesterday I contacted my surgical team and refused any further treatment other than palliative care.  I am very afriad of what will happen now.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Kath.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, no wonder that you are worried about what will happen now.

Hopefully, you will soon get to chat with some of our friendly members whom I'm sure can relate to what you are experiencing at the moment. Until then post as much as you need, there is always someone here to listen, even if all you need is a rant. And if it comes a time when you feel that chatting with someone over the phone might help, our cancer nurses are just a phone call away. Their free phone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available Monday - Friday, from 9 a.m - 5 p.m.

    Best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
