I know self-help books aren't for everyone. To be honest, they had never really been my thing either. I'm not a person who likes being told what to, and my experience of self-help books (about anything) has always been rather negative due to the author(s) coming across in a patronising and aggressive manner.

This changed last night when I started reading 'Their Cancer - Your Journey' by Anne Orchard (I'm part-way through the 2nd chapter). There's an element of repetitiveness, but the book is written in a way that doesn't make me feel like the author is trying to ram her beliefs down my throat... just equipping me the tools to change my perception, ease the fear, and take control of the journey I have now found myself on.
