Recently Diagnosed - Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

My mother in law has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She had a biopsy 8 days ago and received a call today to explain that she will be called 20th April to discuss the results. So almost 3 weeks time. I am sure you will all understand that we are trying to take as much positives as we can through this process. Are there any positives to take from the fact that they have not tried to see her sooner and not face to face? Or, is this just a reflection of the times we are in. We are obviously hoping that the lack of urgency suggests that it has been caught in the early stages but we are also realistic to understand the pressures our hospitals are under at the moment and how this has impacted on timescales.

  • Hi   l understand your frustration, maybe the consultant is away before the appointment school holidays, so that is next available. He may have clinics over Easter that takes slots away due to bank holidays.
l worked in a surgical unit and everything stopped at these times .
l know that doesn't help but l hope you have your treatment plan soon so you know what is happening.
    Do try to relax

    take care

    Susie
