Raised ca125, clear ultrasound

Hi there

Hoping someone will be able to advise me..

10 months ago I had a full blood panel done including ca125, came bacm raised slightly at 39, was sent for urgent ultrasound which picked up nothing.

Have been experiencing cycles becoming longer and longer through the year with excessive bloating so my gp ran the bloods again last week, all okay except for ca125 is now at 207. Sent for another urgent scan and again it hasn't picked up anything.

Don't have endometriosis or any other health issues and am only 31, feeling so worried at what may be causing the rise or if the scan may have missed something? Has anyone else had similar experience and what was the outcome? Thanks xx

  • Hello Greenleaf31

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health concerns these past few months. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about your symptoms and the raised CA125 level despite the ultrasounds that you've had being clear.

Has your GP referred you to see a gynaecologist or suggested any other investigations? If so then hopefully you won't have to wait too long and you will get some answers.

If you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses for some advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

  • Hi,

    Hope you are well

Sorry I know this is a old post, hope you don't mind me asking what the outcome was?

    Thank you

  • Hi!

There was no outcome really to be honest.

I had my ca125 levels checked monthly for 3 months and they had come down slowly to just within the normal bracket.

Just had them rechecked again in February just gone and still higher end of normal but within range just about. Scans never found anything, saw gynecology twice over cycle changes but they could never give me an explanation for it.

    Hope that helps! X
