  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Alan_L!

I am sorry to hear you have been suffering from radiation muscle atrophy. It must be painful to have to deal with neck and upper back pain and I hope you can find an adequate pain killer to relieve it. It might be worth you mentioning to your doctor that co-codamol is not working for you and they may be able to suggest some suitable alternatives.

I hope you will get to chat to others here who have also experienced radiation atrophy. Don't hesitate also to ring our expert nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 - you can reach them Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they may have some helpful suggestions for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Lucie, Thankyou for your reply, I did mention the increase in pain to my Doctor and he upped me to Tramadol 50mg X 8 a day. Unfortunately I actually seem to be worse on this I am really struggling with any effort at all even quite short walks. I aim to ring your free phone number tomorrow as today is bank holiday. Regards Alan L
