Queries re staging

Could anyone clarify some things for me please. My brother has been told he has stage 4 bowel cancer. His letter from MDT states:

T3d N2 M 1b

He has had a PET scan which shows no spread to his liver or his lungs.

we are having telephone consultation with oncologist tomorrow morning.
