Prostate & secondary bone cancer

Anyone who can enlighten me on this subject please, hubby diagnosed last November, classed as untreatable, not terminal, drs don't seem interested, we never get to see the same one twice, and they all have conflicting idea's and advice. We don't know whether we are coming or going... confused.

  • Welcome to the forum Fran although I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis and for the reason you are posting here.

I know you're looking for information about your husband's diagnosis so I just wanted to let you know I have found a section on our website dedicated to prostate cancer as well as secondary bone cancer. And if you click here you can find out more about secondary bone cancer specfically in relation to prostate cancer.

There is a lot of information there so if you have any questions do give our cancer nurses a call next week. Their number is 0808 800 4040, which is free from a UK landline, and they are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind Regards,

  • Hi

As I have what they call metastistic PC, I know all about how difficult it can be, I am classed as incurable but treatable, in my case I was offered a couple of trials I choose Stampede it has very good results. Try and ask about if there are any trials your husband can join, believe me in the long run they are very helpfull and your monitored frequently while on the trial, then every three months after.

i am not saying leap into this he may be offered other medication, but it's worth a look.

    best of luck
