Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that you've been told you need to have surgery.

Did you meet a specialist nurse at your appointment or were you given contact details for one? It's certainly worth getting in touch with her if you have specific questions about your surgery. They may be better placed to answer them. However if you'd like to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you can call them on 0808 800 4040.
